DESCRIPTION: Jean Perrin, Paris, France, 8 days, time and strike, large mahogany table clock in the Directorie style with pendule a Paris movement with silk thread suspension and 5 3/8" diameter plates. Oak case with mahogany veneer case, gilt bronze mounted mahogany columns at the corners supporting a cavetto molded cornice, base with gilt, foliate ornamented trim, Roman numeral white enamel dial signed "Jn. Perrin a Paris", case back with ornate gilt bezel containing a thick beveled glass, c1810
CONDITION: Case top replaced, bottom missing, door at rear of base missing, veneer with minor loss and repairs, gilt trim at base loose, gilding good overall with some minor spotting, one piece of gilt trim missing from case back, front bezel missing and mounting point for hinge broken, dial with scratches, chips at winding arbors, and a few hairlines, hands missing, movement ticks and strikes but is in need of attention, strike barrel cover loose, pendulum missing, bell replaced, rear sash very good and could possibly be used as a pattern for front, Ht 25 1/2"
